Built on years of diplomatic engagement

The division draws on the magazine's standing relationships with embassies, ambassadors, consulates, government representatives, international organisations and chambers of commerce — relationships built since 2013, and now put to commercial purpose.

Where relationships begin

Trusted relationships are the infrastructure of global commerce. Before capital moves and before contracts are signed, someone has to be able to vouch for both sides of the table.

That is the work we have been doing since 2013 — and it is what the division now puts to commercial purpose.

Let's build the next business relationship.

About the division

The intersection of trade diplomacy, investment, business intelligence and cross-border facilitation.

The problem

Cross-border business fails for reasons that have little to do with the merits of the transaction: geopolitical tension, regulatory complexity, information gaps, and the absence of a counterparty either side can trust.

Trusted relationships are the infrastructure of global commerce.
A new trade diplomacy

Diplomatic relations open the door. Economic relationships are what pass through it. The division works across trade diplomacy, economic diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy — treating each as a route to commercial outcome rather than protocol.

Vision

To be the trusted bridge between African opportunity and global capital, and between global capability and African markets.

Mission

To identify credible opportunities, verify credible counterparties, and facilitate transactions that hold after the introduction is made.

From visibility to value. From relationships to opportunities. From opportunities to transactions. From diplomacy to economic impact.

Competitive advantage
01

Diplomatic Experience

Years of working alongside missions, ministries and international institutions.

02

International Networks

Counterparties across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

03

A warm and hearty welcome to our old and new Partners, Investors, Business Leaders, Institutions and Global Friends. It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to The Diplomatic Informer, Division of International Trade, Investment Facilitation & Consulting — a new and strategic expansion of the Diplomatic Informer brand, created from a clear conviction that Africa and the world need stronger, more trusted and more meaningful channels through which to connect, engage, trade, invest and build together.

For more than two decades, my professional journey has taken me across the worlds of diplomacy, international relations, economic and trade diplomacy, strategic communications, international publishing, government engagement, international delegations and cross-border partnerships. My experience within the United Nations system and UNDP, my years with the Royal Thai Embassy working alongside eight Ambassadors, and my exposure to Royal, Presidential, Prime Ministerial, Ministerial, business and international delegations have given me a practical understanding of how relationships between countries, institutions and businesses are built and sustained.

That experience has led me to an important realisation: there are extraordinary opportunities across Africa, but opportunity only becomes meaningful when the right people are connected.

This is the purpose behind our expansion. The Diplomatic Informer, Division of International Trade, Investment Facilitation & Consulting is being developed as a strategic bridge between Africa and international markets — connecting companies, investors, corporations, SMEs, institutions, entrepreneurs, suppliers, project owners and professional service providers across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and beyond.

We are not creating another website simply to list businesses. We are creating a platform designed to create connections, conversations and opportunities. A company in Africa may be searching for a European, Asian or Middle Eastern partner. An international investor may be looking for a mining, agricultural, healthcare, energy, solar, climate, manufacturing, tourism, real estate or infrastructure opportunity in Africa. A supplier may be searching for new markets. An established company may be considering an acquisition. A business owner may be looking for a joint-venture partner. An SME may have an exceptional product but lack international visibility. A project owner may need investors, strategic partners, technology or expertise.

We want to help bring these conversations to the same table. Our services will encompass trade and investment facilitation, international business introductions, strategic partnership development, business and investment visibility, market connections, joint-venture and acquisition opportunities, business directories, international business promotion, conferences and business forums, project visibility and strategic consultancy.

We will showcase selected opportunities ranging from mining and natural resources to agriculture, healthcare, climate and sustainability, renewable energy and solar, manufacturing, technology, tourism, real estate, infrastructure and other strategic sectors. We will also create opportunities for suppliers — from emerging SMEs to major industrial enterprises — to present their products and capabilities to potential international markets.

Our ambition is simple: make it easier for businesses to find one another. But our approach is different. International business is not built on a database alone. It is built on relationships, credibility, cultural understanding, communication and trust.

Having worked across different diplomatic, cultural and business environments, I understand that an introduction is more meaningful when there is an understanding of who the parties are, what they are seeking, what they can offer and where there may be genuine common ground. Our role is therefore to facilitate the first bridge — to help create the opportunity for credible parties to meet, communicate, explore their interests and determine whether there is a basis for further commercial engagement. We do not replace professional due diligence, legal advice, financial advice or independent commercial decision-making. Rather, we help create the relationships and visibility from which those processes can begin.

Why The Diplomatic Informer, Division of International Trade, Investment Facilitation & Consulting?

Because we bring together three powerful dimensions: Diplomacy — understanding relationships, protocol, cultures, governments and international engagement. Business — understanding trade, investment, partnerships, market opportunities and commercial relationships. Communication — ensuring that businesses, projects, products and opportunities are presented with the visibility and strategic positioning necessary to reach the right audiences.

Our growing network and partnerships across chambers of commerce, business organisations, investment platforms and African markets — including relationships extending across South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Togo, Guinea-Conakry, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso and other markets, together with international platforms such as AIM Congress Dubai, UAE — provide an important foundation for this work. The Diplomatic Informer platform will also work alongside our established international diplomacy and media ecosystem, creating a powerful relationship between international visibility and practical business engagement.

Our objective is to help build an environment where an opportunity does not remain hidden simply because the right people have not yet met. Africa has opportunities. The world has capital, technology, expertise, markets and partnerships. Let us connect them.

Whether you are an investor looking for your next opportunity, a company seeking an international partner, an SME looking for market access, a supplier seeking new customers, a corporation exploring Africa, a project owner seeking strategic investment, or an institution looking to expand its international reach, we invite you to explore what The Diplomatic Informer, Division of International Trade, Investment Facilitation & Consulting can do for you.

This is more than an expansion of our services. It is an expansion of our vision. A vision of stronger African–global business relationships. A vision of investment that creates opportunity and sustainable economic value. A vision of businesses learning from one another and entering new markets. A vision of partnerships that cross borders, cultures and continents. And above all, a vision of Africa confidently engaging the world — and the world discovering Africa.

I warmly welcome you to The Diplomatic Informer, Division of International Trade, Investment Facilitation & Consulting. Let us open doors. Let us create connections. Let us facilitate conversations. Let us build partnerships. Let us create opportunities.

Africa to the World. The World to Africa.

How we work

The Diplomatic Informer Facilitation Model

Eight steps
01

Understand

The objective, the constraints, the timeline and what a good outcome looks like.

02

Identify

Opportunities and counterparties that fit, drawn from network rather than search.

03

Assess

Preliminary verification before either side spends time in a room.

04

Connect

The introduction, made on the record and with both mandates confirmed.

05

Engage

Meetings, site visits and information exchange under confidentiality.

06

Facilitate

Keeping the process moving between advisors, principals and institutions.

07

Support

Local knowledge through closing, registration and establishment.

08

Build

The relationship after the transaction, which is where the next one comes from.

Due diligence

Before an introduction is made, six questions are answered.

Who is the counterparty?
Does the company exist?
Where is it registered?
What is its business activity?
Who are the decision-makers?
Does the transaction make commercial sense?

We do not replace regulated professional due diligence.

Standard of engagement

Confidentiality agreements, non-circumvention undertakings, mandates, letters of intent, buyer qualification, seller verification, proof of funds and corporate documentation are ordinary requirements, not obstacles.

Quality of connection over quantity of connection.

Not every introduction becomes a transaction. We say so early, and we say so plainly.

Africa's next chapter

Africa is not one market. It is a continent of diverse economies, cultures, industries, resources, consumers, entrepreneurs, institutions and investment environments — each presenting its own opportunities and considerations.

The Diplomatic Informer, Division of International Trade, Investment Facilitation & Consulting has been created to help businesses, investors, corporations, institutions, entrepreneurs, SMEs, suppliers and strategic partners discover, understand and connect with these opportunities.

Our vision is simple: to help create stronger commercial bridges between Africa and the global economy.

Africa has extraordinary potential across trade, investment, agriculture, mining, energy, renewable energy, healthcare, infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, tourism, real estate, climate solutions and services. At the same time, businesses around the world possess capital, technology, expertise, products, services, markets and partnerships that can contribute to Africa's economic development. The opportunity is to connect the two.

A continent of opportunity

UN Trade and Development has described Africa's potential as a US$3.4 trillion opportunity, highlighting the importance of trade, investment, regional integration, infrastructure, diversification and SME development. More recently, it reported that Africa attracted approximately US$70 billion in foreign direct investment in 2025 — the third-highest level since 1990 — with energy, infrastructure and critical minerals among the sectors attracting significant investor interest.

These figures tell an important story: Africa is already attracting global capital. The next opportunity is to deepen, diversify and broaden the connections between African businesses and international markets.

Africa trading with Africa

The power of intra-African trade

One of Africa's greatest opportunities is not only trading with the rest of the world — it is trading more effectively with itself. The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) provides a framework for deeper continental economic integration and the development of a larger African market. The World Bank has identified stronger intra-African trade as an important opportunity for sustainable business growth, job creation, regional value chains and economic transformation.

{{ pt }}

The World Bank has also highlighted the potential for AfCFTA to increase intra-continental exports significantly, particularly in manufacturing, while reducing trade barriers and improving trade facilitation.

The opportunity is not simply to export Africa's resources. It is to build businesses, industries, supply chains, products and services that can move across African markets and compete globally.

Africa trading with the world

Africa is connected to the world

African businesses can access international markets for their products, services, expertise and resources. International companies can access African consumers, suppliers, resources, projects, talent, markets and strategic partnerships — a two-way opportunity.

Africa → Global markets

Why trade with Africa

Market expansion

Access new customers and commercial markets.

Resource & supply opportunities

Explore African sources of agricultural products, minerals, energy resources and other goods.

Manufacturing & value addition

Participate in production, processing and industrial development rather than focusing solely on raw-material exports.

Investment opportunities

Explore businesses, projects, infrastructure and strategic sectors requiring capital and expertise.

Partnerships

Work with local companies that understand their markets, customers and regulatory environments.

Technology & knowledge transfer

Bring technology, expertise, innovation and skills into growing sectors.

Regional expansion

Use African partnerships as a platform for broader regional market access.

First-mover opportunities

Position businesses early in emerging sectors and markets.

Economic impact: participate in ventures that can contribute to employment, entrepreneurship, infrastructure and sustainable development.

The reverse question

Why should African businesses look to the world?

Africa's businesses should not limit their ambitions to domestic markets. An African SME with a strong product may find customers in Europe. A manufacturer may find a distributor in the Middle East. An agricultural producer may find buyers in Asia. A technology company may find investors internationally. A mining company may require international technology, finance or strategic expertise. A renewable-energy project may require international capital and technical partners.

The world can become an extension of the African business opportunity. Diplomatic Informer seeks to help create the visibility and connections necessary for those conversations to begin.

Partnerships

Combining African knowledge and market understanding with international capital, technology and expertise.

From opportunity to connection

Finding an opportunity is only the beginning. The real question is: who can help you make it happen? This is where The Diplomatic Informer, Division of International Trade, Investment Facilitation & Consulting seeks to add value.

Investors ↔ Projects
Buyers ↔ Sellers
Companies ↔ Companies
Suppliers ↔ Buyers
African Businesses ↔ International Markets
International Businesses ↔ African Partners
Project Owners ↔ Investors
Corporations ↔ SMEs
Manufacturers ↔ Distributors
Technology Providers ↔ African Markets
Businesses ↔ Strategic Partners
The Diplomatic Informer approach

International business is not built on websites alone. It is built on trust, relationships, knowledge, communication and cultural understanding. Our diplomatic and international engagement experience gives us an appreciation of the importance of understanding who the parties are, what they need, what they can offer and whether there is genuine common ground.

Our role is to help facilitate the initial bridge. Within the scope of an engagement we can identify potential connections, create introductions, facilitate initial meetings, support stakeholder communication, create business visibility, promote opportunities, connect businesses to relevant platforms and assist parties in beginning conversations.

Commercial transactions require independent legal, financial, technical, regulatory and commercial due diligence by the respective parties and their professional advisers. We open the door. You decide whether the opportunity is right for you.

The opportunity is not simply to ask "what does Africa have to offer?" The bigger question is: what can Africa and the world build together?
